Dancing with the Stars

I'm guessing every dad at the dance felt this way, but it's time they hear the truth....Sorry, fellas, I had the most beautiful princess at the ball....

Help

Thanks to Meggan going to Austin last week, me working late almost every night, basketball practice, a basketball game, a wild puppy, and a daddy-daughter dance, I haven't much time to post on here.  The good news is it gives me plenty to talk about. The even better news is I paid Amelia to do some of my actual work tonight to free up some time. I'm happy to report she made only 1 error and will easily be better on spreadsheets than most adults by the time she is 9...

Hands Up

While it's not easy to score baskets when you can barely throw the ball as high as the rim, Everett doesn't take any plays off on defense...

So Far, So Good

Meggan left for Texas this weekend, so we are on our own for a few days. By my count, Day One was a success...

We knocked out a little crafting...

took this mongrel for his first professional bath...

and stayed up until midnight doing things like playing indoor basketball with our best friend...

Two Tales

I'm not going to name names, but one of these guys celebrated his birthday today...the other swallowed a washcloth whole and had to have medical attention.

Best Week Ever

Everett is really having one of those weeks that doesn't come around very often. He spent Friday hanging out with Mommy and Grandpa while Amelia had to go to school (extra bonus points for having fun while she suffered).  Saturday was spent with no adult supervision as he, Amelia, Grandpa, and Sophie were left to do whatever they wanted while Meggan and I were out of town.  Sunday found us at Chuck E. Cheese with pizza, cake, games, and a gaggle of friends. He hit a basket at basketball practice on Monday.  Tonight, he took his first ever shower without any help because "he's almost 5 and when you're 5 you get to do whatever you want." (direct quote from the man himself). Tomorrow is a normal day, but Thursday is his actual 5th birthday...in which I guess he'll begin doing anything he pleases.
