Shopping Buddy

Everyone should get themselves a little shopping buddy like I have. Sure, it takes him 10 times as long to wheel the basket around, he can drop a deuce in his diaper on any given aisle, and he inevitably wants me to buy something that is either not age appropriate or $300....but, he looks so cute doing it you forget about all of that nonsense...

Look Out

We finally got the fence put up at our new house. This can mean only one thing....the neighbors better get ear plugs if they don't like hearing the constant barking of a buck wild jack russell because Sophie is now free to roam about the property...

Checkup

Amelia had her 5 year-old/ kindergarten checkup today. Everything was great. She measured in at 36th percentile weight, 44th percentile height, 41st percentile BMI, 100th percentile awesomeness. Technically, they don't measure that last so I had to estimate it.

Ride 'Em

I wonder how much it costs to have a carousel installed in your house...

Space

Possibly the biggest advantage to our new house is it has more space so the kids get their own playroom. 

Possibly the biggest problem with our house is the kids have now proven they can fill any amount of space with toys, chaos, and mess....

Oh well, at least they enjoy destroying the house together. 

Moves

I don't always advocate letting your 2 year-old dance to 90's rap music. That said, if Pandora throws it out of the speakers and he starts breaking it down, you let the man go...

Couch

Shock

Thanks to Ms. Tonya, Amelia was lucky enough to get to go see Disney Jr. Live today. This was her reaction to Mickey taking the stage...

Hump Day

There was clearly only one way we were going to make it over the hump this week....and that was by stuffing our faces with ice cream (technically frozen yogurt, but don't tell the kids)...

Sleep Mask

We all skipped work and school today to hang out together as a family. As we were out running around this afternoon, the kids were supposed to be taking a little nap in their car seats. Amelia went out like a light. Everett, however, tried to trick us by pretending to sleep and putting on his sunglasses so we couldn't see his eyes....he wasn't quite as convincing as he thought he was....

Shopper

I figure if Amelia already spends all my money, she might as well have to be in charge of the shopping cart too...

Hat

If I asked, begged, or bribed Everett to wear this hat, he wouldn't do it. However, since he probably knew I had no interest in buying it, he wouldn't take it off to save his life...

Dogs

Now that Ev is old enough to play, he is learning new games all the time. Unfortunately, I don't necessarily think biting a stuffed animal and mouth wrestling it away from Sophie is the kind of game I had in mind...

Ready

Despite enjoying the snow a few weeks ago, these two are ready for Spring. They've already started test driving their new sunglasses....

Book Club

Meggan is at a book club (which I'm guessing means a "drink lots of wine-eat treats-and vaguely talk about a book" club) meeting tonight. So, I am left outnumbered by these 2, maybe 2.5 if you count Sophie, rascals...

Nice Addition

Since we bought a new house, it only seemed fitting that Amelia's Barbies got a new house as well. So far, she's been a very happy landlord...

Learning to Talk

I'm really glad Everett is learning to say so many words and communicate so many of his thoughts. That said, I could do without the attitude. Tonight alone, he yelled "NOT FUNNY, DADDY!" at least 100 times...the last of which was when I told him we couldn't watch Paw Patrol for the 5th time in a row.

Relaxing

As always, it was great having Grandma and Grandpa come visit. The kids were very sad to see them leave. The good news is the weather was beautiful, we got to spend a lot of the day playing with the neighbors, and we even took a little time out to relax on the swing...

Diet

You know how I mentioned following the rules wasn't exactly on the agenda today? Well, neither is dieting. No wonder Amelia always loves Grandma and Grandpa's snack bags....here is what they returned home with from the store..(Cheetos, Cheez Its, Roasted peanuts, 2 boxes of Girl Scout cookies, 2 boxes of apple fritters, etc.)

Trouble

Grandma and Grandpa are in town for the weekend. I'm not sure what we'll be doing, but you can bet "following rules" is not a part of it. Amelia has already asked me if they were bringing her a goody bag of treats.

Teacher

If learning how to use the IPad is fun, teaching your giraffe and lion friends to use the IPad is even better....

....that is a pretty great day.
