Spent

I don't like to speculate, but I think it is safe to say Doggie Day Care has done a number on Tucker. This is how he spent the ride home...

Dancing Machines

Last night was Amelia's barn-inspired Daddy-Daughter dance.  It was our best dance of her illustrious 4-year career....and I know this because I was in pain this morning....I might have to stretch next year....

Idle Time

Tucker found use of his idle time while we were gone at work....

No, Tucker, I'm not proud...and yes, I see you slightly sticking your tongue out at me...

They're Watching

Sometimes you get a progress report from your kids' teachers and you wonder if they are even talking about the right kid.  Other times, it is painfully obvious that they know your kid almost as well as you do.  This is one of those times.....

Amelia is the perfect friend to sit by if you are having a tough time and need someone to support you or let you cheat off their paper...

Everett is the perfect friend to sit by if you need a good laugh or want the scoop on the newest Pokemon cards he got...

#6

It's hard for me to believe, but my little fella turned 6 today.  I couldn't be more proud of him.  He's doing great in school.  He's a loyal and loving friend.  He makes me laugh just about every day...and he's more handsome than I ever was.

The Good and The Bad

When you live in the South, snow days fall just behind Christmas on the hierarchy of bringing happiness to kids.  This was just as evident today as it ever has been.  There were snowball fights, sledding down hills, new neighbors and old friends stopping by to play.....and then a patch of ice, a brick paver, and an unfortunate fall changed all that...

The day started with a few inches of joy....

and ended with 6 stitches in the boy....

39

Today was my birthday.  It included being off work, a 90-minute massage, phone calls and messages from loved ones, a haircut, dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, and ice cream cake ... at 39, that's basically a perfect birthday.

Big Step

We've had Tucker for roughly 2 weeks.  In that time, I've had to carry him up and down the stairs every morning and every night.  We've tried treats, his leash, going up, going down, etc.  Nothing worked.  He wouldn't budge past the first step or two.  This has been an enormous worry as our house has stairs inside and outside.  Tonight, that worry became a distant memory.  For reasons we'll never know, he decided to start using the stairs. Yes, his first attempt looked like a fawn trying to walk on ice.  That said, he has now gone up and down the stairs at least 5 times in the last 10 minutes.  This may not seem like big news, but trust me, this very well could be the thing that keeps him as a part of our family.  It's time to go celebrate with a few extra treats!

I hope Everett has a permit for these things....

What a Helper

I asked Everett to help me pick out a pedestal sink for our bathroom.  After looking at them for a few minutes, he finally gave me his answer... "Can we just get this toilet instead?"

...I'll be taking Amelia with me going forward.

When you're right, you're right

I'm guessing this isn't the explanation Amelia's teacher was looking for as to why the biggest number on the graph is 16, but she can't deny it is a true statement....
