After 40 days and 40 nights of rain, it was a blessing to have a few sunny days come our way. It seemed like the perfect time to try out my new hammock....if only the kids would let me have a turn....
My little baby girl turned 10 years old yesterday. Being her dad has been one of the great pleasures of my life. If you get the chance to have a conversation with her, you'll see she's one of the smartest, funniest, and caring people you'll ever meet. She's a better daughter than I deserve, a better person than I could have imagined, and I couldn't be more grateful to get the chance to be a part of her beautiful ride through this life.
We have implemented a 20-minute nightly family pajama reading time. It isn't homework. You can read anything you want. The key is we're spending time together, not looking at screens, calming down before bedtime, and maybe even learning something.
The rough patch continues. Amelia got hit with strep throat. I couldn't believe it because I checked her the other day and her mouth looked totally normal...
Given our past experiences with Teddy, who bit us too many times, and Tucker, who bit other people too many times, we've been hesitant to share some news. After keeping it to ourselves for the past 7 weeks, I suppose it's time to announce a new addition to our family. Meet Olive, a little bundle of fur and snuggles that has stolen our hearts...
A late night at work, a trip to a comedy show, and a visit from Grandma and Grandpa put a temporary hold on the blog posts. That said, we're back and ready to roll....just like Everett after his morning coffee....
On the downside, I've had a stomach bug this weekend. On the farther down side, Meggan put me in quarantine, so my Superbowl party was a party of one. Oh well, at least nobody was talking over the commercials....or busted me watching the Puppy Bowl.
