Stars

While working the hot dog cart at an event near Grandma and Grandpa's, the kids began their paths to super-stardom.  Everett was asked to take a picture for the newspaper (I'll share when we see a copy) and Amelia got to be filmed for the Chamber of Commerce during a raffle drawing (screenshot below as I don't have the video yet).  Better get your autographs now.

Lonely

Someone is a little lonely without her best friends, Everett and Amelia...

Addition

Meggan and I returned home from taking the kids to Grandma and Grandpa's for the week.  I'm sure the kids will do all the normal things this week.  That means, swimming in the pool, going fishing, planting vegetables, riding around the property, etc.  That said, this week will be different than all previous weeks because they'll also get to spend time with the newest addition to the family.....their cousin, Reed...

Splash of Color

Today was wacky hair day at school.  While Everett decided he liked his hair the way it normally is, Amelia wanted to liven hers up a bit with some color....and since Meggan, who we count on to keep us away from bad ideas, was out of town, color is what she got.....

It looks like it was Taco Tuesday for everyone in our house tonight...including Olive with her new toy....

Road Trip

I'm happy to be back home after a busy 3-day road trip.  During the trip I was able to visit 90% of my family at their various houses, enjoy some time near the ocean, attend an old friend's wedding, and take flowers to the cemetery for my mom and dad.  All in all, it was a great, tiring, trip.

Higher Ground

Olive has a new favorite place to sit....on your shoulder....as long as you're trying to relax, read, or do some work on your laptop.  I'm pretty sure she's at least 1/4 kitten.

Stick Figure

I took fluffy, snuggly Olive to the groomer for a trim today.  For some reason, I came home with this stick figure with a giant head.  I'd say that's the worst thing that happened at PetSmart.....except Everett walked around the store repeatedly loudly saying we needed to "find the bongs" and "the bongs must be around here somewhere" from the end of each aisle.  Luckily, it only took us 7 aisles and a few weird looks before we found Olive a new KONG toy.  

Digging In

In case you were wondering if Amelia enjoyed her field trip, this should answer that question....

Along with getting buried in the sand by her best friends, she went on a hike, rode a ferry, toured historical sites, played tug of war, and returned home in need of a very serious nap.  

Travel Time

Amelia embarked on her first ever overnight field trip this morning.  She's headed to the coast with the entire 4th grade.  This is the first time since birth that we haven't been able to contact her (barring emergency).  While I hate not being able to talk to her, I am grateful her teacher is posting photos of their trip.... I am, however, wondering what kind of camera she has because all the pictures make Amelia look much older than I choose to believe she is.
