Down and Out
Our little girl is not feeling her best. Long story short, she's on 3 medicines and I had to buy puppy diapers tonight. So, say a little prayer for a speedy recovery.

Turn that Frown Upside Down
What helps get rid of the sadness of Grandma and Grandpa leaving after a visit? Did you guess a rainbow smiley face in the middle of a blue sky even thought it hasn't rained in days? Great guess...

History Repeats Itself
7 years ago, I posted this post. Over the past 7 years, a lot has changed ...and a lot has stayed the same...

Goodbye
I'm not sure there is a better way to leave the house to start your day than Olive's new method.... If she's upstairs when she hears us leaving, she'll wait on us and then meet us for goodbye kisses through the railing...
...I hope this practice continues forever

Play Through
As I've been saying on here, Everett has really taken a liking to basketball. It shows in how often he wants to play, the weather conditions in which he's willing to play, and most recently, what he's willing to play through. He took a ball into the end of his pinky finger, leaving us with this....
...he didn't want to stop playing. He had me back out in the driveway the next day....and the next day. His finger is fine now and didn't require any medical attention. Despite the fact that I have about 100 things I'd rather do than play basketball in the cold, I couldn't say no to a guy playing through pain....plus, it made it really easy to beat him and rub it in his face.

Champion
"The key is not the will to win. Everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important." - Bobby Knight
Everett has become a real basketball fan. He asks me to go outside and play with him every day....including two days ago when it was raining/snow flurries and tonight when it was already dark. On a related note, which is worse, a dad who won't take you out to shoot hoops or a dad that goes out in the dark, still dressed in work clothes, to shoot with you .... and then beats you 3 times in a row right-handed, left-handed, and under-handed?

Now What?
Lacrosse signed up for? Check
Lacrosse equipment purchased? Check
Any idea of a single lacrosse rule, technique, or way to avoid getting smacked with the ball? Nope
Oh well, that's what the helmet's for....

Clutch
Everett finally got the chance to shoot the pressure free throw. If you miss it, everyone has to do push ups. If you hit it, everyone gets a water break.
It looks like our driveway shooting practice is paying off.... just in time for my man to transition into soccer....and as of today, lacrosse.

Tutor
Olive is a lot of things to this family. She's our alarm system. She's a heating pad for our laps. She's our neighbor-greeter on our walks. That said, her newest role of being Amelia's math tutor is one I particularly appreciate. I'm not entirely sure what her math background is, but she's patient, supportive, and gets paid in dog treats...
