I tried to explain husband, father, wife, mother, son, daughter, etc. to Amelia the other day. She can't quite get her head around the fact that one person can be multiple things to different people. This became evident today...
Amelia: Mommy is a wife.
Me: Yep.
Amelia: A girl is a wife and a boy is a cousin.
Me: Ummm, think you mean husband, not cousin.
Amelia: Oh.
Later in the day...
Amelia: Mommy, you're my wife.
Me: Am I your husband?
Amelia: Noooooooo, you're my daddy.
Meggan: I'm not your wife, I'm daddy's wife. And he's my husband.
Amelia: (perplexed) So, you're my mommy-wife?
